Born and raised in
San Francisco, Carlos Poza was admitted to the California bar, 1999. Preparatory Education: San Jose State University (with a dual
degrees in Business Administration and Electrical Engineering). Legal
Education: Chicago-Kent College of Law (JD). Member: State Bar of
California, the American Bar Association, the Bar Association of San
Francisco and California Trial Lawyers Association. He was admitted to
practice in all California state courts, the United States District Court
for the Northern and Central Districts of California, and the United States
Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. |

Mr. Poza has
extensive experience defending architects, engineers, and general
contractors in construction defect cases, and been retained as primary
litigation counsel in complex cases throughout California. Mr. Poza has
represented commercial and residential builders in contracting, labor
issues, risk management, and litigation. |

Mr. Poza has argued
successfully before the California Court of Appeals, and has tried cases to
verdict in three California counties. In addition to his practice in the
construction and professional liability arenas, Mr. Poza has counseled
commercial clients on employment and labor issues both in advance of and
throughout litigation. |

Prior to becoming a
lawyer Mr. Poza worked for Apple Computer, Inc. developing digital systems
architecture for content delivery and resource management. He has since
counseled technology and product development clients in resolving trademark,
copyright, licensing, and trade secret issues. He has assisted clients with
investigating, designing and implementing virtual marketplace solutions and
assessing on-line product exposure; evaluating web-based business tort
liability; establishing technology licensing models; and negotiating
pre-litigation IP infringement solutions. |
